Feeding American Donation

My good deed for April 5th, 2009 was a donation to Feeding America. Check out their website at http://feedingamerica.org/

Keep Warm!!

We, its April, and Chicago is covered in snow. What. The. Hell.

I did my bit of good today by buying 2 pounds of yarn at Michael's crafts store! Now I just need to find time to knit this yarn into scarves...I'll have to save that project for another day.

Welcome!

Finally! A blog that isn't people talking about themselves (or at least that's the only kind I ever find...)

This blog is meant to motivate people to Pay it Forward (help others so they can help others) by appealing towards their competitive, blog-loving, side.

Here's the deal. Each day, I will try to take a moment to PAY IT FORWARD. And then write about it or add a picture of it. Hopefully, this will give others ideas of how to pay it forward, and force me to stop being lazy and put my metaphorical money where my real mouth is.

For all you google application loving fools out there, you may be familiar with DON'T BREAK THE CHAIN-- an application that allows you to keep track of how many days in a row you do something-- anything (read, work out, do your taxes, etc). We are trying to not break our "Pay it Forward" chain. Every day that we do not Pay it Forward, we have to walk across burning coals, in our mind. Or....we feel bad about ourselves, because it is SO EASY to help others.

This is a blog administered by myself (erin) and my half-ex boyfriend (wully). Wully works in the city, and I work at a school in the suburbs. We will have totally different opportunities to Pay it Forward (this should be interesting!!)

If you have any ideas of simple things people can do to help others, post them here!! If you like something we did, let us know!!! It will motivate us to keep working on this.
